How To Get and Activate BlackBerry PrePaid Service in Singapore
Are you traveling to Singapore and wish to activate and use your BlackBerry without paying for roaming charges on your BlackBerry Internet Service?
Here’s the tip for you.
You can get a prepaid sim card from StarHub for your BlackBerry and activate the prepaid BIS at $10 for 3 days.
Currently StarHub is the only operator in Singapore that offers prepaid BlackBerry Internet Service sim card. Other operators such as SingTel and M1 are not offering this service as yet at the time of this posting. You will need to get the StarHub Green Card at $15 that has $18 credit to activate your service. The sim card is valid for 6 months so you can reuse it if you plan to return to Singapore to refill your card with credit..
How To Get The StarHub Sim Card.
There are three places you can get the sim card.
1. The StarHub retails
2. Most medium to large sized 7 Elevens
3. UOB Money Changers (we saw them at the airport)
We suggest you purchase the sim card at UOB Money changers at the Singapore Changi Airport to ensure you get to switch BIS on as you land Singapore
If not, you will have to search for 7 Elevens around the city. When we tried, the system was down and 3 of the 7Elevens we tried could not issue the Sim Card.
By the way you will need to show your Identification or passport to register your green sim card.
If you missed all these, you will then need to hunt down StarHub Retail Outlets around Singapore.

Once you have activated your BIS, you should be able to start receiving BlackBerry Messenger Messages, browse the internet and so on. You will need to set up all your email accounts to the StarHub network to read and send emails.
If your BIS did not connect automatically and is not able to BBM or browse. Run diagnotistic test to ping your BlackBerry PIN to the RIM Server.
