Backup your private data and make sure you never loose it! In your Blackberry

It is now very easy to backup the personal data on your BlackBerry® to the SD Card. An installed microSD card is required.

New features since version 0.0.1 (BETA 1):
– Important Notice: This is a very early BETA version. Data integrity can NOT be guaranteed!.
– Backup: Contacts from Address Book to SD Card.
– Restore: Contacts from SD Card to Address Book.

New features since version 0.0.3 (BETA 2):
– Memo Backup.
– Memo Restore.
– Type Selection: choose “Memos”, “Contacts” or both for backup and restore processes.
– Restore List: shows all previously created backup files for easy selection and restore.
– Progress Bar: shows the progress during backup.
– Unicode support: Foreign language characters like Chinese, Japanese and others are supported during backup and restore process now.

– Calendar Events backup restore.
– Emails backup restore.
– Restore List: shows all previously created backup files for easy selection and restore.
– Backup location: choose the backup directory.

– Restore Detection: automatic detection which content is in a backup.
– Restore Selection: choose which data to restore (memos, tasks, … or all).
– Progress Bar: shows the progress during backup.
– Step-by-Step: backup and restore screens. Keep it simple!
– User interface improved:
— New program icon.
— Font size is now adjustable over all screens.
— Progress bars now pop up.
— Layout in backup and restore screens simplified.
– Minor user interface issues have been fixed.

Cara Back up Blackberry Messenger

Update: Untuk yang sudah menggunakan Blackberry Messenger 5.0.0.57, baca cara backup BBM 5.0.0.57 karena agak beda

Mau install Blackberry Messenger baru? Upgrade BBM4 ke BBM V5? Punya masalah dengan Blackberry Messenger dan perlu reinstall? lebih baik anda backup dulu contacts PIN BBM anda.

Walaupun seharusnya contacts BBM anda tidak akan hilang, tapi namanya IT bisa ada hick up kadang contacts bisa hilang atau restore contacts tidak lengkap. Bila anda hargai contacts PIN BBM anda dan tidak ingin satu pun hilang dari BBM anda, sebaiknya anda back up contacts PIN anda.

Untuk BBM lama v4 anda hanya ada cara back up lewat Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Cara Back up Lewat Desktop manager.

Blackberry desktop manager ada di CD software di kotak Blackberry anda. Atau download di situs Blackberry Internet Service BIS operator lokal anda. Setiap operator BIS di seluruh dunia ada situs tersendiri di Blackberry.com untuk download software dan applikasi Blackberry termasuk desktop manager.

Blackberry desktop Manager juga tersedia untuk Mac. Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac

Setelah download dan install desktop manager,

  1. Buka desktop manager
  2. click Backup & Restore
  3. Pilih Backup

Juga ke Advance

disebelah kanan akan muncul database yang ada di handheld blackberry anda. {ilih Blackberry Messenger, klik panah ke kiri dan klik File, Save As database BBM anda.

Khusus untuk backup Blackberry Messenger V5, anda sudah bisa backup lewat handheld

Caranya,

  1. Buka Blackberry Messenger V5
  2. Tekan menu BB
  3. Pilih Backup Contact List Remotely
  4. Pilih Back up files remotely (berarti back up ke server RIM dengan daftar email anda ke RIM)
  5. atau Pilih Back up files locally (back up di media / micro SD card anda)

Untuk restore kembali, pada saat anda reinstall BBM, BBM5 akan secara otomatis deteck email anda untuk restore remotely atau anda bisa klik menu BB dan pilih restore backup dengan restore dengan media card anda.

Blackberry sering error? mau reinstall OS, upgrade OS ataupun sebagai routine backup data Blackberry. Anda harus backup database Blackberry anda lewat Blackberry Desktop manager lewat PC.

Blackberry desktop manager ada di CD software di kotak Blackberry anda. Atau download di situs Blackberry Internet Service BIS operator lokal anda. Setiap operator BIS di seluruh dunia ada situs tersendiri di Blackberry.com untuk download software dan applikasi Blackberry termasuk desktop manager.

  1. Buka desktop manager

Data blackberry akan otomatis di backup ke PC anda.

Di bagian Advanced, anda bisa pilih database apa yang mau di backup dan restore, juga bisa backup khusus untuk Blackberry Messenger.

BBM Avatar Back Up Problem

BBM Avatar Back Up Problem

Berikut dikutip dari CB, memang server RIM lagi trouble, akibatnya Avatar BBM Blackberry Messenger tidak Sync, dan remote backup/restore tidak berkerja.

Ada juga yang komplain avatar picture Yahoo Messenger tidak tampil

After reviewing the forums for the past few days, I noticed a lot of users were having issues with their BlackBerry Messenger which was also noticed by DangermouseUK.

The issues seen in this case is that avatars and remote back up of BlackBerry Messenger contacts is not correctly working.

This current situation appears to be affecting not only BIS users but BES users as well.

From the information gathered, it seems the issues started as of Friday and have not been corrected since then. Not only are BIS and BES users not able to sync avatars you can’t register a new email, restore a backup remotely, and even restoring using a backup file from the PC using device switch or the feature built into messenger, will NOT initiate a PIN switch on RIM servers.

This is a confirmed issue and from the information, it does appear that the servers designed to support these features are not responding to the requests to perform the actions mentioned.

So I ask you all, anyone having issues with remote back up of BBM contacts?

Maybe you have some people on your list who once had avatars and now, do not?
