Cara Upgrade ke OS Resmi Blackberry

Blackberry selalu update OS (Operating System) nya buat handheld Blackberry untuk menambah fitur dan mengurangi bugs yang kadang bisa munul di Blackberry. Tentu saja updates pasti ada tambahan fitur baru. Dan yang dinanti natikan adalah OS versi 5 yang kami sudah coba versi BETA / Leak.

Jika anda ingin instal OS 5 Leak, ataupun OS v4 terbaru yang direlease oleh RIM untuk operator lainnya dan bukan release oleh BIS Indonesia, bisa baca di halaman Cara Upgrade OS V5 Leak Blackberry.

Cara Upgrade OS Blackberry anda ke OS versi terbaru RESMI

  1. Siapkan Blackberry desktop manager dan laptop atau pc.
  2. Back up data handheld Blackberry ke PC atau laptop dengan Blackberry Desktop Manager, Baca Cara Backup Blackberry dengan Desktop manager.
  3. Wipe handheld (optional hanya untuk hanheld yang memang sudah bermasalah) di Blackberry dengan cara option -> security options -> general settings -> pencet tombol menu BB -> wipe handheld. Tunggu sampai dengan proses wipe kelar. Kalau OS masih yg 4.2 wipe include 3rd party, kalau OS 4.5 tidak usah. Tapi kalau tidak yakin, wipe semuanya daripada crash.(o
  4. Nyalakan desktop manager, colok Blackberry nya ke desktop manager.
  5. Desktop manager akan otomatis detect untuk synchronize data, lalu akan otomatis check for updates yang muncul OS versi terbaru yang resmi release oleh RIM untuk operator anda sebagai updates/upgrade, Ikut petunjuk. (kalau tidak terdetect, restart lagi PC dan restart desktop manager.
  6. Anda juga bisa click “check updates” dibagian kanan bawah desktop manager
  7. Tunggu sampai benar2 nyala dan booting sampai dengan home screen. Jangan cabut kabel atau mainin kabel data.

Cara Back up Blackberry Messenger

Update: Untuk yang sudah menggunakan Blackberry Messenger 5.0.0.57, baca cara backup BBM 5.0.0.57 karena agak beda

Mau install Blackberry Messenger baru? Upgrade BBM4 ke BBM V5? Punya masalah dengan Blackberry Messenger dan perlu reinstall? lebih baik anda backup dulu contacts PIN BBM anda.

Walaupun seharusnya contacts BBM anda tidak akan hilang, tapi namanya IT bisa ada hick up kadang contacts bisa hilang atau restore contacts tidak lengkap. Bila anda hargai contacts PIN BBM anda dan tidak ingin satu pun hilang dari BBM anda, sebaiknya anda back up contacts PIN anda.

Untuk BBM lama v4 anda hanya ada cara back up lewat Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Cara Back up Lewat Desktop manager.

Blackberry desktop manager ada di CD software di kotak Blackberry anda. Atau download di situs Blackberry Internet Service BIS operator lokal anda. Setiap operator BIS di seluruh dunia ada situs tersendiri di Blackberry.com untuk download software dan applikasi Blackberry termasuk desktop manager.

Blackberry desktop Manager juga tersedia untuk Mac. Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac

Setelah download dan install desktop manager,

  1. Buka desktop manager
  2. click Backup & Restore
  3. Pilih Backup

Juga ke Advance

disebelah kanan akan muncul database yang ada di handheld blackberry anda. {ilih Blackberry Messenger, klik panah ke kiri dan klik File, Save As database BBM anda.

Khusus untuk backup Blackberry Messenger V5, anda sudah bisa backup lewat handheld

Caranya,

  1. Buka Blackberry Messenger V5
  2. Tekan menu BB
  3. Pilih Backup Contact List Remotely
  4. Pilih Back up files remotely (berarti back up ke server RIM dengan daftar email anda ke RIM)
  5. atau Pilih Back up files locally (back up di media / micro SD card anda)

Untuk restore kembali, pada saat anda reinstall BBM, BBM5 akan secara otomatis deteck email anda untuk restore remotely atau anda bisa klik menu BB dan pilih restore backup dengan restore dengan media card anda.

Backup data Blackberry lewat Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Blackberry sering error? mau reinstall OS, upgrade OS ataupun sebagai routine backup data Blackberry. Anda harus backup database Blackberry anda lewat Blackberry Desktop manager lewat PC.

Blackberry desktop manager ada di CD software di kotak Blackberry anda. Atau download di situs Blackberry Internet Service BIS operator lokal anda. Setiap operator BIS di seluruh dunia ada situs tersendiri di Blackberry.com untuk download software dan applikasi Blackberry termasuk desktop manager.

  1. Buka desktop manager

Data blackberry akan otomatis di backup ke PC anda.

Di bagian Advanced, anda bisa pilih database apa yang mau di backup dan restore, juga bisa backup khusus untuk Blackberry Messenger.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager For Mac Update

BlackBerry Desktop Manager For Mac Updated To v1.0.1

@BRSDiddy let me know that BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac has been updated to version 1.0.1 Build 2.

This update “includes important bug fixes and enhancements to your data synchronization” and according to @BRSDiddy, syncing is significantly faster.

I’ll update this post once official release notes become available, but for now, leave some comments if you notice any other changes.

Use Blackberry as Modem – Download Blackberry Desktop Manager v.5.0.1

Kabar Gembira untuk Blackberry users yang ingin jadikan Blackberry menjadi Modem. Dari berita Blackberry, desktop manager versi terbaru v.5.0.1 sudah bisa jadikan modem.

Lihat gambar dibawah, adalah screenshot Blackberry desktop manager terbaru, ada opsi Connect Internet.

BlackBerry® Desktop Software version 5.0.1

provides a variety of fixes and improvements to the synchronization and Application Loader processes.  This version also includes a simplified IP Modem Connection Manager for supported wireless service providers, support for Windows 7 and support BlackBerry® Storm(TM) 9550 and 9520 and BlackBerry® Bold(TM) 9700 smartphones. Note:

Kami belum sempat coba karena masih diluar kantor dan untuk download 281MB lewat internet berat sekali. Nanti sudah selesai download akan kasih kabar lagi.

Tapi hati hati, anda harus pastikan paket BIS provider anda tidak charge biaya extra, karena setahu kami, paket BIS tidak termasuk surfing pada saat Blackberry dijadikan modem.

Sebagai cadangan si boleh boleh aja…

Cara download, jika anda sudah install Blackberry Desktop Manager,

buka Blackberry Desktop Manager dan click check updates akan otomatis download dan install versi terbaru.

Jika anda belum install Blackberry Desktop Manager, carilah CD Blackberry software anda, setelah install, baru upgrade lewat internet.

Setelah Download Khusus Windows

  1. Buka Desktop Manager
  2. Plug in Blackberry smartphone
  3. Masuk ke modem properties di control panel.
  4. Coba diagnostic dulu (biasanya namanya standard modem….), kedetect ga.
  5. Kalau ok masukin extra command string: at+cgdcont= 1, “IP”,”www. xlgprs.net” ; at+ cgdcont=1, “IP”,”indosatgprs” ; at+cgdcont= 1, “IP”,”telkomsel”
  6. Create network connection, pilih modemnya, dial number: *99#
  7. Isi username password sesuai ops masing masing :Isat: indosat, indosat. XL: xlgprs, proxl. Tsel: wap, wap123

Blackberry File Manager System

FileScout Core Features:

  1. FileScout is a file system browser for your BlackBerry® (including hidden files)
  2. Create directories, copy, move, rename, or delete files
  3. Zip and Unzip files or complete directory structures with your BlackBerry® (no support for password protected zips)
  4. Copy and delete complete directory structures
  5. Open all media files (supported by your BlackBerry®)
  6. Register additional file types with other (3rd party) applications (if supported)
  7. Open files (like ini, xml, etc.) as plain text so you can edit, mark, copy, and paste text fragments of files that normally can’t be opened with your BlackBerry®. This can become very valuable when you receive email attachments that are not normally supported by your BlackBerry®
  8. Delete pre-installed wallpapers, videos, and ringtones in order to free memory on your device***
  9. Please note: once these features are deleted, the only way to get them back is to hard reset your device!
  10. Display thumbnails for supported image files (if enabled in the options)
  11. Search for files and directories on your BlackBerry® device
  12. Send any file as an email attachment to your BlackBerry® contacts
  13. Send any file via Bluetooth to another device that support OBEX
  14. Define a favorite directory list (as shortcuts)
  15. Show details for files & directories [modification date, is hidden, etc…]
  16. Resize (& rotate) images in order to save time and money when sending photos to your friends via your BlackBerry®
  17. Create playlists (across multiple folders)

Some files on BlackBerry® devices have some type of DRM (Digital Rights Management). As a result, these files cannot be copied or moved. FileScout will give you a warning once you try to copy a file that has ‘encrypted content’. FileScout will mark these files with a “caution” symbol. Additionally, in some cases, it will not be possible to delete this content.

Fungsi file scout antara lain :

1. Bisa create directory
2. Bisa move, copy, rename atau delete file
3. Bisa zip dan unzip (extract) file
4. Bisa resize dan rotate image (resize untuk ukuran tertentu saja)

Hampir sama dengan file manager.
