1. PhoneBasics Airless Internet (“AI”)
Allows you to read your favourite contents (webpages, books, stories, articles etc) anywhere, anytime and free on your BlackBerry phone:
– You can read without wireless coverage
– You can read without data plan
– You can make an e-book from any text files and read it through AI
Intuitive navigation interface provides you advanced bookmarking, searching, copy/paste and paging capabilities.
2. PhoneBasics LostFind:
Couldn’t find your BlackBerry phone on Monday morning? Lost your phone in parking lot? You may be able to get a new phone. But who wants to give up the familiar toy that accompanied you every day, let alone the data stored in the phone?!
No worry! PB LF is designed to help you in many ways:
– You can ring your missing phone by calling it from an alternative number (e.g. home phone), even if the phone is in Quiet mode
– You can instruct your missing phone to send its current details to your email or SMS, including its exact map coordinates if phone supports GPS
– You can also do the above by sending your phone a SMS message
– You can remotely lock your phone and push a notice to be displayed on the lock
– You can configure your phone to notify you if someone uses your phone with a different number (i.e. SIM card)
“What about if my phone is powered off when it is missing?” PB Lost Find has a way to still allow you to do the above. Find it out by downloading it now!
3. PhoneBasics Call Filter
Enables you to block unwanted calls (Blacklist Rule), or allow certain calls only (Whitelist Rule).
You can easily:
– create/delete Whitelist (e.g. My Family) or Blacklist (e.g. Bad Buys) rules
– add/remove numbers to/from a rule
– activate/de-activate rules
– manage filtered call logs
4. PhoneBasics Device Manager
Helps manage your BlackBerry device to serve you better.
– Phone Lock: You may get frustrated with BlackBerry’s native phone lock – accidental outbound/emergency calls; forgotten password that leads to phone wipe, etc. PB Device Manager provides a better phone lock. Not only you get intelligent password help and unlikely accidental outbound calls, you can also remotely lock your phone with a message when it is missing (see Ottafone website for more details).
– Phone Reboot: Feel unprofessional when having to pull the battery out to restart the phone? Tired of seeing the hour-glass (phone is slow) when you need the phone to function? THERE GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY! PB Device Manager provides you an elegant way to reboot your phone with one finger click. Better yet, you can schedule your phone to reboot itself regularly (daily, weekly or reboot upon low memory) at a convenient time to you.
– Power Saving (PS): Every once a while, you may run into a situation when your phone battery is low, but you can’t afford to turn it off because you are waiting for an important call. PB Device Manager provides you an interface to turn your device into power saving mode. You can even configure your phone to automatically enter PS mode when battery is below a specified level. Our experiment shows that PS mode could reduce battery consumption by 50% in typical setting.
– Backlight Control: This interface allows you to keep your BlackBerry screen backlight on for longer period of time. This is useful when you’re reading information from the phone.
– File Browser: PB Device Manager provides a Windows-Explorer-style file browser, which allows you to: (1) view files/folders on your phone; (2) create new file/folder; (3) Delete file/folder; (4) Rename file/folder; (5) Search for files/folders
5. PhoneBasics Ring Tone Manager
Allows you to set your phone ring tone to Off (mute), Vibration (light or normal) or Phone Profile temporarily (next 1, 2, 3 hours) or permanently. When it is temporarily set, PB Ring Tone Manager will automatically revert back to your original setting when time expires. It also allows you to schedule Off (mute) hours.
6. PhoneBasics Task Manager
Allows you to see the applications currently running on the BlackBerry phone and the current memory usage information. You can also clean memory or conveniently check device event log.
