BlackBerry OS 5.0 Download Links for Tour, Bold, Storm, & Curve 8900

Sebenarnya OS 5.0 yang leak versioon (bukan yang resmi dari RIM) sudah beredar sejak Aug 2009. Namun banyak download links yang di posted online sudah expired atau deleted.

Terlampir download link terbaru yang masih aktif. Anda harus download lewat PC karena lebih daro 150MB size, unzip dan install lewat Blackberry Desktop  Manager anda.

Benefits dari OS 5.0:

  • punya threaded SMS messages system seperti iPhone
  • SMS message app mirip NEW BBM5 yang resmi punya ikon ikon.
  • Tampilan lebih bagus
  • Browsing websites lebih cepat dll.

Kekurangan OS 5.0:

  • OS 5.0 masih belum resmi dari RIM adalah leak version / beta
  • pasti punya bugs yang belum sempurna seperti waktu release BBM 5.08 leak
  • applikasi thrid party mungkin tidak compatible dan tidak bisa dipakai dengan OS terbaru.

Teman teman yang sudah coba download dan install OS 5.0 ke Blackberry punya memang merasa puas dan BBM 5.0.0.33 yang resmi sudah dapat digunakan dengan OS 5.0 dengan lancar.

Namun OS 5.0 masih tetap adalah LEAK / Beta version dan BUKAN resmi dari RIM, maka  jika anda bukan techie / ahli main Blackberry, tidak disarankan untuk install OS 5.0 sendiri. Download link dibawah adalah untuk techie yang suka main dengan Blackberrynya, sudah berpengalaman install OS sendiri.

Multi Language Blackberry

Muti Language Support for Blackberry

Cara install Language – Japanese Chinese etc ke Blackberry biar bisa baca dan tulis dalam Bahasa Lainnya.

Saranya, coba dulu update software OS dari Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Blackberry Desktop Manager ada di CD software yang dibundle dengan Blackberry. Kalau tidak punya CD lagi, install lewat website BIS Indonesia sesuai provider anda. Link website Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) Indonesia ada dibawah. Instal ke PC dan run desktop manager.

  1. Connect your BB to the PC
  2. Open/Startup Desktop Manager
  3. Click on “Application Loader”
  4. Then click “Update Software”

Juga klik on “Check Updates” dibagian kanan bawah Desktop Manager.

Process ini akan mengupdate OS Blackberry handheld anda dengan yang terbaru serta multi language support yang terbaru. Selalu click “check updates” di desktop manager untuk OS dan language support terbaru.

Jika masih tidak ada language support yang anda inginkan, coba cari ke halaman Blackberry Operating System Download dengan operator negara lainnya yang punya language support yang anda inginkan. Setelah dapat, process nya sama, download OS terbaru sesuai jenis Blackberry dan install ke BB anda.

Ini saran dan cara dari salah satu forum Blackberry:

Some carriers firmware only includes some language support you will need to download another carriers firmware that has “Multilanguage” support. To do this you can follow the steps below:

First, find a carrier that supports the language you desire to download. i.e Hong Kong carriers for Chinese Language?

1. Download the latest Multilanguage firmware using this according to your Blackberry type.
2. Install the firmware (OS) onto your PC running BlackBerry Desktop Manager
3. Go to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader and delete the vendor.xml file. If you are using Desktop Manager 4.7 you must also disconnect your PC from the internet.
4. Connect your device and open Desktop Manager
5. When prompted select “Upgrade Now” (If you are not prompted select Applications Loader > Update)
6. Follow the prompts and your device will be upgraded.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it’s done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says “waiting for initialization.”
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

New BlackBerry OS Leaks Threaded SMS

BB OS Leaks: 5.0.0.190 for Bold and 8900 w/ threaded SMS; 5.0.0.154 for Storm 9530; OS 5.0.0.140 for Tour!

Here are some new BlackBerry OS download links for the Tour, Bold and Curve 8900.

For the Tour, version 5.0.0.140 is pretty old now and kinda buggy, but OS 5.0.0.190 is hot off the press for the Bold and 8900 and makes some jumps forward with OS 5.0 including the appearance of threaded SMS (as pictured below)

seems like they all look like BBM V5 including the newly released Instant Messengers

Finally – a native threaded SMS client on BlackBerry! Tabbed browsing is gone (for now at least) in .190 but there’s some other cool features too, like theme previews
