Nama Indonesia berkibar di ranah pengembang aplikasi untuk BlackBerry. Sebuah aplikasi bernama Love Indonesia dinobatkan sebagai aplikasi juara untuk kawasan Asia Pasifik pada ajang tahunan BlackBerry Partners Fund “Super Apps” Developer Challenge yang ketiga di Toronto, Kanada, akhir pekan lalu.
Selain Love Indonesia, pemenang lainnya adalah Poynt, Vlingo Plus – Voice App, dan UbiNav EU. Pemenang Aplikasi Super tahun ini akan menerima hadiah berupa paket senilai lebih dari US$ 85 ribu, termasuk keanggotaan khusus di BlackBerry® Alliance Program, sebuah paket promosi App, ponsel BlackBerry, dan penempatan aplikasinya di BlackBerry App World selama tiga minggu.
Love Indonesia adalah aplikasi panduan lengkap untuk ponsel BlackBerry Indonesia. Ia merupakan portal gaya hidup gratis yang memberikan panduan kepada pengguna dalam menemukan apapun yang dibutuhkan dengan beragam fitur pencarian.
Informasi yang disediakan adalah berbagai ulasan regular, promosi-promosi potongan harga dari berbagai toko di setiap kota di Indonesia, juga informasi seputar restoran, hotel, belanja, film, berita, informasi lalu-lintas, acara, dan sebagainya. Para peserta tahun ini memperebutkan total hadiah senilai lebih dari US$ 1,5 juta. “Ajang ini menjadi BlackBerry Partners Fund Developer Challenge yang terbesar dan yang paling menarik,” kata Kevin Talbot, Co-managing Partner di BlackBerry Partners Fund, dalam siaran pers kemarin. “Kami tidak hanya melampaui jumlah aplikasi yang yang masuk seperti tahun-tahun sebelumnya, namun juga melihat inovasi yang luar biasa banyak di semua aplikasi yang kami evaluasi selama proses penjurian.”
